I'm in awe....

Ya know...when I have scrappers' block (yes...I do still actually do layouts! LOL) I peruse galleries to get some inspiration. And when I see layouts using my designs, it STILL takes me by surprise. It will always make me smile inside but I just get giddy when I see these! Both of these layouts are by incredibly talented scrappers and I'm honored they chose to use my designs.

As long as I keep not having any pirates, I'll continue to RAK. I love to do it and I hope you all enjoy! I haven't posted to the blog who receives these RAKs but I will start to do that from now on as long as time doesn't get away from me. Speaking of which....a while back I could have sworn that I lobbied here for there to be more hours in the day. But I haven't seen any results....sigh.

And I'm on a deadline with this kit as it is going to be used for a very special purpose very soon. So I need a name quick. Nothing like adding on the pressure, huh? Kit Needs a Name

I'm at a loss.....I'm working on a kit for a project. It is made with ALL blues and browns. There are some shabby, frayed, fabric flowers. There are cardboard elements, doodles, paint strokes, glitter, stamped flowers, and grunge papers, etc. I don't have a preview yet but I will post it as soon as it is done. But I'm at a loss for a name. What do you think of when you think of blues and browns? Leave me a comment and let me know. I'll post a preview as soon as I'm done with it.....

Hmmm....let's see. I just might have to provide incentive and give the kit away for FREE to the person who suggests the winning name. Hmmm....just might have to do that.....LOL

Free CHOCOLATE!!! (well....chocolate freebie actually!)

LOL! Did that title catch your attention? I really do have free chocolate for you.....in a manner of speaking. Thinking in Chocolate is one of my new kits in my Thinking collection. I thought it was one my favorites but now I can't decide. I think each kit in this collection has good pieces...

A little about how I design....
I was told the other day, "wow, you include a lot of elements in your kits." Yes, I do. In my Thinking collection there are always at least 5 background papers and AT LEAST 20 elements. Sometimes more! Actually often more...just depends. The reason I have soo many elements in each kit is for those of you that have different scrapping styles. Designers have to reach a broad audience and wide range of styles. So providing 20 elements makes it so YOU have a lot to choose from to do your layout. My style of scrapping is kind of a collage style. Nothing is straight up and down. Nothing is perfectly centered. And I usually go overboard and have to remove 1/2 of it. LOL But I like to have selection when doing my own layouts....so that is the way I design also. I give you selection.

And yes....with each kit, I always create extra. Yep, with every single kit! Then while doing my preview image, there is always some that just doesn't quite look right with the rest of the kit, or there are pieces that simply don't fit because I made too many. LOL What do I do with those? Yep, I put them here on my blog as a freebie for YOU! They'll all coordinate perfectly with a kit that is in my store.

I need HELP with Burgundy!

Wow - lots of you like Burgundy. I already fulfilled one color wish from the comments left below. You'll see it in the store in the next couple of days. I love making what YOU want! So keep up the comments. This really really helps designers.

Now I'm working on Burgundy!!! :-) But......I need your help! I need to know what your idea of burgundy is. Some may confuse it with dark red, or maroon, or a purply red. So...here is what I need. I need a color value to start with. Go to ColourLovers and tell me what your idea of burgundy is. If you don't respond in my comments section, I can't get what YOU want. :-) So, let me know. If you hold your mouse over any color on this site, it will give you a funny looking number - LOL! I need that number.

oh, for those of you wanting pink and purple, those are already done. :-) You can see them HERE in my store. Girl colors are EVERYWHERE in digiscrapping. Boy colors are more harder to find. Boy kits in general are harder to find. So I'll be more apt to design in boy colors for right now. Don't get me wrong...I have two girls and girl colors are ones I'm comfortable with and I'll do a lot of designing. But right now I'm trying to focus on more colors that can be used for boy layouts.

Challenge Kit at DSS - FREE for you! :-)

Hi Everyone! Guess what? If you don't already know...DigiScrapShak gives away a kit each month to those who fulfill ANY three challenges that month. And guess what? I designed the kit for August!!!! :-)

The challenges at DSS are awesome and I've participated in them myself quite a bit. There is a lyric challenge where you use the lyrics of specified songs (different song every two week), an add-on challenge which is one my favorites where you do a layout that contains eight things in it that meet the requirements of the selections made by DSS members, color challenge where you use a selected colors, font challenge where you use a specified font (different font every two weeks!)...and this is just a few of the challenges. Just meet the simple requirements of the challenge but the rest of the layout is up to you. How fun and easy is that?!?

Now....for a teaser. The kit given away this August hasn't been revealed yet. It will be soon though when the DSS loaded monthly newsletter comes out! Which is any day now..........(are you signed up????). So, I can't yet reveal what the kit looks like. But I can show you two layouts that were created by the DSS CT that uses the kit.....
