Hi Everyone! Biggest news?!? I'm NOT pregnant anymore! LOL Alyssa Susan Ann was born on December 30. I've been taking some time off to spend with her and haven't been designing much. But I'm back online and designing up a storm.

But of course.....pictures of the baby! First and most important, huh? :-) Here she is!
And before you ask.....(cause many others have!!!) - No, I did not spike her hair. We have many times wondered if our doctor used the vacuum to get her out though cause her hair just does NOT go down. It sticks up like that. But I love it! :-)

Ugh....I just typed this whole post, pressed the publish button and it disappeared and my whole IE closed!!! Argh...So, here I go again. :-)

Last week, I was perusing the DST Scraptalk forum (one of my daily things I do) and I saw an ISO for a Christmas kit with pink, white, red, and apple green colors in it. I thought about it for just two seconds before I got inspired. In fact, soo inspired that I quickly whipped this out. The color scheme was just soo easy to work with and it all came to me. But then.....the mojo ended. And here it is 3 or 4 days later and I have this problem that I need help with.

This kit needs a NAME! Please help me! At first I thought when I started this that Lil' Miss Christmas would be good. But now that I look at the finished product, besides the pink, it really isn't THAT girly enough for that name. So, help me...PLEASE! Help me name this kit!

Whoever's name I choose will get this kit for free! Whatcha waitin' for? Suggest away!

Here is all the info that I've been teasing you about! I probably won't post any design related stuff for about a week or so as I want this to remain the top post. We are advertising everywhere and pointing them to our blogs for details. And here they are:

Creative Team Call

KariQ and Kris Myers Designs have come together to start a brand new Creative Team. We are currently looking for 8 to 12 new people to join our team. Not only are we looking for layout designers, but we are also looking for 3 positions to be filled on our team.

The three positions that we are looking to have filled are advertising director – a person that oversees and organizes all advertising duties; and an administrative assistants to KariQ & Kris Myers – duties include one person maintaining the CT blog, one person maintaining the yahoo group. Both assistants will be updating our personal blogs, as well as keeping us up to date on what is going on in the digiworld, and helping Kari & Kris with general maintenance. Any person who chooses to do any of these positions will have fewer requirements on the CT with layouts & other responsibilities. *we do ask that anyone applying for the director/administrative assistants not be on another CT and would prefer that some kind of experience be included with your application. Whether the experience is just being an organized person, or any other personal qualities that you think would help. You don’t need a bachelor’s degree to apply. Just simple reasons on why you think you are qualified for the job.

When applying for the CT layout designer positions, please be aware of the following expectations that are required to stay on the team.

4 layouts per month, of which 50% of the layout should be of the kit you are highlighting;
Only one layout per kit is required;
You get the choice of working with whoever’s kits inspire you, KariQ’s or Kris’s;
Challenges and activities will be organized for more fun, and layout inspirations to help you stay motivated, but are not required;
Advertising of our products, organized by our new Advertising Director. Don’t worry, you’ll be sharing the work with your team members; and
Leaving love on your fellow team members layouts

Need a Name.....Help us Come up with One!

If you read my last post, my sister and I are joining forces and creating a new creative team. But we are stuck.....we can't come up with a name. We wanted something with K in it....cause both our names start with K - Kris and Kari. We also thought it would be cool to have something with the word sisters in it. But we are stumped! (oh...if you need a reminder of just who my sister is....there is a link to her blog on the right side bar - scroll down till you get to "My partner in crime...Kris Myers")

Want to help us come up with one???

I thought K squared - K2 (dang....can't superscript here) was cool. Or Special Ks.....or......I don't know.....having a block!

Any ideas? There just might be something in it for the one who picks us a good name. He he!

I'll post all the details of the new CT soon.....its gonna be a big one though - 12 members. And then some assistant/director positions too.

Hi Everyone! Guess what I'm 31 weeks pregnant now! And man oh man...I know I told all of you this before, but this is definitely my last one! I'm sooooooooo NOT doing this again. This has been the absolute worst pregnancy experience of all of my three. I won't give you all the details but who ever heard of throwing up 3 times a day this late in pregnancy?!?

I have been able to keep up with designing but that's about it. I've neglected my blog (both this one and my family one..sigh!).

But before I show off all my designs, I gotta give you even more news. My sister and I are going to join efforts and create a new Creative Team! If you like my designs, and you like my sister's designs - Kris Myers, also at Plain Digital Wrapper - then you are in for a treat! Hi Everyone!!! I apologize, I've been soo out of touch lately. This pregnancy has not been treating me well....at all. My worst one by far. I've been sooo sick and missed soo much work (my real job), that I'm going to have hardly any leave for maternity leave...sigh. And because I spent soo much time sick, I just didn't have the mojo to design. And I can't believe I'm only 17 1/2 weeks....I thought about it....quite often in fact. 1. I have a couple new releases - I've been sitting on these a while and I have no idea why....couldn't figure out pricing, wanted them perfect, versatile, etc. Ok, enough of that. Check them out! You can use these for almost anything! And acrylic is hot right now. But this isn't just any acrylic - this is matte acrylic! I love the look....its NOT glossy. Kind of matte...

Yes, I'm excited, but I'm sad too. What happened to the last year??? Ok, so my beautiful little one year old girl, and my 7-year old girl........are going to be both BIG SISTERS again! :-) I'm pregnant! This is my last one! I really want to give DH a boy (he's surrounded by all females! LOL), so we are trying one more time to have a little boy. But this is the last - even if it is a girl..... I want my body back! LOL Anyway, that's my big news! I'm about 10 weeks now and due on Christmas Day! ACK!

Hi Everyone! I'm loving the Basic Grey Chipboard albums. And I'd love to hear from my readers how many of you use them....Does everyone know what I'm talking about?

I'm really liking them and hope to use some soon. Ok, ok...since I live in the middle of nowhere, I have to order them but I'm really excited about them! LOL

My question to you is - are you using them? Do you plan on using them? And would you use quickpages for these? Ok, that's more than one question. LOL I'm starting to see them all over the place and I thought I'd whip some up.... What do you think? Would you use them? And if so....if I make quickpages, what kit of mine would you like to see me use? Don't forget...I read every single comment and love to do what my readers ask of me. Let me know!!! :-)

Well, before I tell you my secret.......gotta tell you something else first. Unfortunately, I am no longer with DigiScrapShak. Life changes happen and I feel like I needed to move on. There was no drama involved in my decision and I parted ways pleasantly with no hard feelings with anyone there. I consider Lori, Heather, Vickie, Mary, etc. all my digi friends still! :-) DSS is a great store and I completely encourage you, all my blog readers, to stay up to date with them. They are going through some changes that I anticipate will be only for the better!

Since my departing from DSS, I was offered a great opportunity! Despite life changes and my now almost 10 month old growing sooo fast (and making me completely sad and having a bad case of the baby bug....), I've decided to take the opportunity! It sure has been quiet around the digi world. Others told me it was slow during this time but sure didn't seem like it at my house.....LOL! BUT...guess what I did? I turned off my computer for four days! I can't believe it. I NEVER do that.....not since meeting the digi world and certainly not since I started designing. But I spent time with the girls and had a lot of fun doing it. In fact, it was the most layed back four days I've had in a long time. I should do that more often.

I wanted to let you know that DSS extended their sale and whoa - site traffic is crazy! I don't know when the sale ends (I'll have to find out but all my new releases below are 30% off!!!! Hurry, don't delay! This sale won't last forever! :-)

I hope all of you are doing great and not too stressed during this holiday season! I know I'm crazy busy but I actually get to fit in a dinner with my girlfriends on Wednesday night. Looking forward to that. But it'll be a welcome occurrence after making chocolate covered cherries tonight (still need to dip them in chocolate though....), tomorrow is Kaia's Girl Scout Christmas Party, a birthday party coming up on Saturday, still need to do some travel mugs for gifts for a few friends. Have you all seen those at Starbucks? They are also in the latest version fo Digital Scrapbooking magazine. They make awesome presents and the digital template is free!

Don't get too stressed during the next week. Family first, not gifts. And don't forget the reason for the season.

I didn't know if I was going to do one this month or not but as I finished up THREE BRAND NEW element packs, I decided to just throw them into a grab bag! Hi Everyone! I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving last week. I know I did. We traveled out of town to see family and man oh man, did I ever have digi withdrawal while I was away! But I'm back, rested up (had to take a vacation from my vacation)! LOL And just in time to leave on another trip for work tomorrow morning....but I wanted to connect with all of you first!

Want to see what I've been up to? This is a kit that I've finished but won't be available until next week - nothing like teasing you, huh? :-) I can't even tell you the name until it is presented to the digi-scrapper at DSS that it was made for. I'll let you know when it is available.

I released this last week but wasn't able to tell you about it because I had no internet access while I was away relaxing and eating lots of turkey. Aren't these Newsprint Flourishes just RAWKIN'??? I love them. The pack comes with 18 swirls. Nine of the swirls are plain and the other nine are embellished with cute little frayed fabric flowers. And ALL of them are in newsprint! How cool is that? You can get these at my store at DSS!

The next two products listed aren't new exactly but rather re-released. The first one is my first collab I ever did with my sister - Kris Myers Designs. We had it available for $1.50 to our blog readers last April. Then it went into the vault. But guess what??? They are now available in the collab section at DSS! :-) These are hand drawn doodled flowers that are hand painted with oil paints. These are great and I'm seeing them all over the net on layouts. YEAH!!

Karen, one of my blog readers let me know that I had inadvertently forgot to put my stitched frames in the store at DSS! I apologize for that. Mistake on my part. Don't know how I did that. But they are there now! :-)
Want to see what else I've been up the last couple of days? I've been working on shutterfly books and you know what??? I think I actually got the hang of it now....everytime in the recent past, I got my anxiety all worked up when going to Shutterfly cause I just couldn't figure that site out. Well, I think I do now...thanks to all the help I received at DST. Thankgoodness for all those digiscrappers that know Shutterfly well. But when I was filling up my books with layouts, I realized I didn't have enough! ROFL! So I whipped some out the last couple of days....still need to do more too. But whatcha think??? Of course, don't do that if you don't want to see gorgeous pictures of my two little monkey girls! :-)

What is your favorite technique when doing layouts? Now...not your favorite things to use, not your favorite elements, but a technique. I want to hear from you! So give me a shout and tell me what your FAV technique is! I'm in a scrapping kind of mood and I want to get some layouts done this weekend......

One of my fav....just one....is to take a picture and create an overlay with it, decrease the opacity, enlarge it, and use it against my background. I love the way it looks. Here is an example below. My style is usually more "collage" and artsy. But I love the simplicity of this...

So...everyone in my house has officially had their first cold of the season. That's why I've been quiet lately. Yes, even Natalie had it......speaking of Natalie - she is going to be 5 months old tomorrow!!!! Watching her grow soo fast is making me sad. :-( If you want to see pictures of her, click on the "My Little Family" blinkie on the right! :-) I have some new releases that I've been working on - three element kits and of course the nameless kit below. LOL

I feel soo behind lately. The cold season and throwing myself into 1st grade homework (how can they have this much homework already?!?) has kept me busy. But I gotta admit, it has paid off - Kaia is reading! And whoa is she really reading!!! She continues to amaze me everday! But it sure takes a lot of time every evening. I'm sooo behind in my sister's CT. I've done layouts but haven't gotten them posted. I haven't gotten as much in the store as I've anticipated. And I feel like new trends are happening and all I did was blink! Geesh..... Now, I know a while back I asked if there was anyone....ANYONE that could lobby for more hours in the day. Has anyone achieved that yet???? Sigh..... :-)

Working with this Mega Kit was a blast. Never before have I seen such a girly Halloween kit! If you have princesses, fairies, and unicorns at your house on Halloween, then you need to pick up this kit! Besides...it is only $5.98 for a limited time only! How cool is that??? Check it out! You are the first to hear! I have a brand new release and guess what? I got the idea from YOU - yep, I love to take what you tell me in your comments and do something with it. One of you wrote (and I'm going to have to go look to see who it was....) that you wanted something that looks like what you see when you walk in the woods in the winter time. So, that's what I did!

Tell me what you think! I'm very excited about this kit. The preview just doesn't do it justice and I redid it several times trying to make it look better.....sigh.

This kit contains six papers and 20 elements! The elements are: two frames, two folded ribbons (1 with stitching); a bare branch, an almost bare branch that has a few leaves hanging on for dear life, a sweater fabric piece with a flower attached, wrinkled notbook paper, a large pine bough rubon, a torn piece of paper, two different pieces of green masking tape, a file tab, a button, mesh, a folded note, a wrapped ribbon (I just love these!), a ripped and curled tag, and ripped cardboard paper piece. Remember last month when I asked for your help in naming a kit? And the winner of the naming contest got this kit for free. And then I couldn't announce it right away because it was for a special event that wasn't announced yet. So, here is the deal. I make kits for DSS that honor either one of their CT members OR one of their staff every month. It is a secret until announced in their newsletter. At the time I was waiting for the newsletter to come out because it is a surprise to the person being honored. :-) Well, the newsletter was released and then things got crazy and I never got the name of the kit posted. BUT....better late than never, right?
During all the name submissions, there was one that made me laugh out loud when I read it. So, that is the one I ended up going with.

Well, I've been out of town "working" the last week so you haven't heard from me. I had wanted to get this posted before I left but things got crazy - you know how it goes. And wow...I forgot what it was like traveling with a baby. Since I'm still nursing, Natalie had to come with me. Well, someone had to watch her while I was working those days so DH came too. Well, couldn't leave Kaia at home alone so she came too! LOL And then it just so happened that my mom and hubby were up there at the same time so I had the whole family. It was fun. Had a good time and will post pictures on my family blog as soon as I get time.......

But I have lots of news that I'll separate into different posts so it is easily viewable and more reader friendly! :-)

he he! You didn't think I was actually going to tell you, did I? ROFL! Ok, I'm in such a teasing mood. I've had three people request Turquoise/Teal. So that is next! In fact, it is almost done. And then hmmmm....I'm liking the idea of Indigo too. Or....hmmm....need more ideas for boy colors. Maybe a dark fall green? If you have more color ideas...let me know. And it doesn't have to be just one color, give me a color scheme....Leave me a comment or look in the sidebar for my email! I love getting email from you....so don't hesitate!

And what are your favorite elements right now - what are you using a lot of? Me? I can't seem to do a layout without using a swirl or some kind, so right now there is always a swirl in my kits that I design. Oh - and I'm loving frames. I scour web site for really cool frames...LOL What about you? What is your favorite element?
